Why specimen freight needs a specialist
A delayed or mishandled sample is a wasted collection, a repeat appointment, or a failed test result. Because Drop-X has no refrigerated or temperature-controlled capability, chilled, frozen and cold-chain specimens are not accepted. For suitable ambient samples, dispatch reviews the packaging, handling requirements, addresses and requested timing before confirming road transport. Customers remain responsible for confirming that ambient transport is appropriate.

What kinds of samples and specimens do you transport?
Drop-X moves pathology and medical specimens, blood and clinical samples, hospital and inter-lab freight, laboratory and research samples, pharmaceutical and clinical-trial materials, and soil, water and environmental samples for geotech, agronomy and testing labs. If it has to reach a lab intact and on time, we carry it.
Can you handle temperature-sensitive or cold-chain samples?
No. Drop-X does not operate refrigerated or temperature-controlled vehicles and does not accept chilled, frozen or cold-chain specimens. We can assess suitable ambient, non-temperature-controlled business samples for road transport.
Do you provide chain of custody and proof of delivery?
Delivery confirmation is provided after completion. Sealed handover or a receiver signature may be arranged where dispatch confirms the requirement for the booking; live tracking and photo proof are not offered.
How fast can you collect a specimen?
Pickup timing depends on the addresses, sample details and available vehicle. Dispatch confirms timing per booking. Fixed or guaranteed collection times are not offered.
Do you deliver samples to regional Victoria?
Yes. Same-day and next-day specimen runs to Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and across regional Victoria are available, including environmental and soil samples back from regional sites to Melbourne testing labs. Call 1300 973 038 and we'll quote the run.
Can you set up regular runs for our clinic, hospital or lab?
Yes. We run scheduled daily and weekly specimen rounds for pathology networks, hospitals, veterinary clinics, research institutes and testing laboratories on a freight account, with dedicated drivers and monthly invoicing.
