What we don't do

No personal or household deliveries — business freight only.

Keeping our scope tight is how we deliver every job reliably. Drop-X does not handle:

  • Household moves & furniture removals
  • Residential addresses are accepted for business-related freight only. Personal deliveries are not available.
  • Airfreight or seafreight forwarding. Interstate services are road freight only.
  • Perishables needing refrigerated trucks. We don’t run temperature-controlled vehicles.
  • Narrow time-slot bookings
  • Click & collect pickups from retail shops
  • Shared backloading or unquoted linehaul. Regional deliveries are completed as a dedicated express service. Interstate freight is available as a separately quoted service.

We simplified the complexity behind courier pricing

Every delivery has different requirements. Drop-X handles the logistics behind the scenes and brings the simplicity of online shopping to courier bookings — clear pricing, easy checkout, and delivery confirmation in minutes.

The traditional courier process

  1. Request a quote
  2. Answer questions about your delivery
    • Where is it going?
    • What are you sending?
    • How large is it?
    • When do you need it?
  3. Wait while the price is calculated
  4. Approve the quote and arrange the booking

The result

  • Waiting for a response
  • Unclear final pricing
  • Back-and-forth calls and emails

The Drop-X process

  1. Enter your delivery details
  2. Our system calculates the logistics
    • Pickup and delivery locations
    • Freight requirements
    • Service option
  3. Review the quoted price
  4. Book online and receive confirmation

The result

  • Price upfront
  • No waiting for quotes
  • Simple online checkout

Courier pricing can be complex behind the scenes, but booking your delivery shouldn’t be. Drop-X manages the logistics for you, providing clear upfront pricing and simple online booking in minutes.

Freight support for workshops, fabricators and sites

Engineering work is deadline work — a machined shaft due at a plant for tonight's shutdown, a rewound motor needed back before the morning shift, a fabricated frame that has to be on site for the crane booking. Drop-X runs these jobs daily across Melbourne's industrial suburbs and out to regional sites: direct, single-driver runs with a Melbourne dispatcher who understands the freight can't be late.

The right vehicle for industrial freight

Cars and vans for instruments, seals and small components; utes and one-tonne trays for pumps, motors and fabrications; tail-lift pantechs with pallet jacks where there's no forklift at the far end. Weights, dimensions and site requirements are confirmed at booking so the right vehicle arrives the first time.

What we typically move

  • Machined shafts, housings and precision components
  • Fabricated frames, brackets and steelwork
  • Pumps, motors, gearboxes and drives
  • Valves, actuators and instrumentation
  • Rewound motors returning from repairers
  • Bearings, seals and breakdown spares
  • Hydraulic cylinders, hoses and fittings
  • Test equipment and calibration instruments

Frequently asked questions

Can you deliver directly to an industrial site or plant?

Yes. We deliver to plants, construction sites, substations and commissioning jobs across Melbourne and Victoria. Give us the site contact and any induction or access requirements at booking and the driver follows them.

How heavy can industrial freight be?

Up to 500kg per pallet on tail-lift vehicles with pallet jacks. Long items like shafts and steel sections up to 2400mm travel on trays — flag dimensions at booking and we send the right vehicle.

Do you support maintenance shutdowns?

Yes. Shutdown windows are often nights and weekends, and Drop-X runs a genuine 24/7 operation — parts collected and delivered around your shutdown schedule, with a dispatcher on call every day of the year.

Can you handle urgent breakdown freight?

Dispatch can assess urgent business road freight. Pickup and delivery estimates depend on the job and available vehicle and are confirmed before booking.

Do you run to regional industrial sites?

Yes. Same-day runs to Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and industrial operations across regional Victoria, with transparent per-kilometre pricing — the item rate plus $1.85 per km of road distance (beyond 100 km, extra kilometres at $2.30), inc GST.

Can we set up an account for regular engineering freight?

Yes. Operations with regular volume — 20+ pallets a week, 3+ regional deliveries a week or 5+ deliveries a day — qualify for freight accounts with invoice terms, consolidated billing and priority dispatch.
