The road distance and driving time were measured on Google Maps between the two centre points, in November 2026, with the time rounded to the nearest 5 minutes. The distances from the Melbourne GPO to the towns and localities listed further down were also measured on Google Maps. The main roads and the other distances on this page come from OpenStreetMap routing (map data © OpenStreetMap contributors). Traffic, roadworks, weather and your exact pickup and delivery addresses change the driving time, and loading and unloading add to it, so your estimated delivery is confirmed when you book. Your price uses the road distance between your actual pickup and delivery addresses; see regional pricing.
Bright to Melbourne express freight, never line-haul
Every Bright to Melbourne job is a dedicated door-to-door express run. The driver who collects your freight in Bright takes it straight to the delivery address in Melbourne: it never goes onto a line-haul truck, through a depot or cross-dock, or onto a backload with other freight, so it is loaded once and unloaded once.
Interstate is express too: interstate express to Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra carries only your freight and is never backloaded.
