Frequently asked questions
What can I send as a parcel with Drop-X?
Cartons, small boxes, satchels, mailers and document envelopes that one person can safely load and unload by hand. A single small-item booking covers up to 5 items under 50 kg in total. Heavier or bulkier freight is booked as a pallet or a larger vehicle instead.
Do you deliver business parcels to residential addresses?
Yes, when the parcel is business freight booked by a business, such as an online order sent to a customer or equipment sent to a staff member working from home. Personal and household parcels are not carried.
Can you collect click-and-collect orders from a shop?
No. Drop-X does not pick up click-and-collect orders from retail shops. Pickups are from business premises, warehouses and other business addresses booked by the sending business.
How soon can a parcel be collected?
Across metro Melbourne, pickup is typically within 60 minutes of booking during business hours. Regional pickups and all delivery times are confirmed per booking; fixed time slots are not offered.
Do you offer parcel tracking or proof of delivery?
Drop-X does not offer GPS or live tracking, or photo proof of delivery. You receive delivery confirmation once the parcel is delivered, and dispatch can tell you whether a receiver signature can be arranged for your booking. Updates are available by phone on 1300 973 038.
Can I send parcels to regional Victoria?
Yes. Parcels go by road to Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and towns across regional Victoria, same day or next day. The price is the $35 item rate plus $1.95 per km of road distance after the included 20 km, with kilometres beyond 100 at $2.50. Booking a regional delivery for the next day instead of the same day takes 10% off the total.
Is there a lower rate for regular parcel volumes?
Businesses sending 15–20+ small deliveries a day can apply for a freight account, which takes up to 30% off the small-item rate: from $24.50 instead of $35. Accounts are invoiced monthly on 14-day terms, or 30 days with credit approval.
